You know how much I love Monsoon – quirky but wearable fashion that goes up to a size 22. Monsoon is great for knits and jeans, but there is something about their love of colour and prints which I think makes them especially good for spring and summer dressing. Let’s face it in some Monsoon outfits you feel like you’re wearing a country garden!
So, with this in mind here are my picks of the new spring season offerings from Monsoon.
First up the Trudie Dress at £55 is going to be one I will wear and wear. In drapey jersey, with a v neck and back ties, its the ideal shape for my figure. The print, that looks quite subtle from a distance is full of colour close up – a great buy in sizes 8 to 22.
Next let look at coats and jackets. A good spring mac is a must for any wardrobe and this one is a classic. I can’t justify buying it myself as I still have a lovely flared navy trench I got from Monsoon last year. But if you are in need of a spring mac you could do a lot worse than this.
The Harper Tipped Mac is the height of fashion, with a great retro/Madmen look. In Navy with white tipping it will brighten up any rainy spring day. The Harper costs £100, but is only available up to a size 18 – tut tut Monsoon! Why so stingy on the sizing??
Now a very simple little black shrug. How difficult is it to find a plain black shrug just now? Not a sparkly job for going out, just a nice plain one for work. So thank you Monsoon for this one in black ribbed cotton, with 3/4 length sleeves and available in sizes S to XL for £36.
For something a little more glam try this lovely kimono jacket. these have been really fashionable for a while and look great over a plain dress, or jeans. This one has a flattering black background and a lovely rich colour palette, and at £58 will be a great long term investment for your wardrobe.
